Sales Policy

Cabinwood Farm’s foals will be individually evaluated and weaned according to their own needs. This can be anywhere from between  3 months until six months depending on the needs of the foal.

A 20% deposit will hold adult donkeys or foals until they are ready to be weaned or a deposit can be used to establish an approved lay-a-way plan. Deposits are non-refundable after 10 days unless agreed upon otherwise. Payment in full must be made at least one week before delivery or pickup of donkey. Discounts can be given on multiple donkey purchases.

All buyers will be provided with a contract of sale stating all their individual sales requirements. (Ask to see a basic contract form)

All Cabinwood donkeys are registered with the American Donkey and Mule Society and/or the American Council of Spotted Asses and all registration papers of the donkey/s purchased will be transferred into the buyers name by seller.

All Health records are provided upon purchase. Each donkey sold is up to date on vaccinations, worming, and hoof care. Any Donkey that requires out of State transportation must have a negative Coggins test and health certificate as required by law. The reasonable cost for Coggins and health papers will be paid by buyer according to contract agreement.

Cabinwood Farm believes that most young jacks should be gelded. Prices set will reflect a discount for jacks we feel are not of herdsire quality.

Transportation cost and arrangements will be the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise provided for in purchase contract.

Each donkey purchased comes with a halter and lead.

Donkeys are a herd animal and their happiness and good health depends on the companionship of other donkeys or like companions. Cabinwood Farm will NOT sell a donkey without proof of acceptable equine companionship.

Our commitment to our donkeys is to ensure they are matched with caring and responsible owners and will be going to a well-matched home! We reserve the right to refuse any sale that we feel is not in the best interest of our Cabinwood Farm donkeys!

The best donkey owner is the educated and informed donkey owner. Please visit ALL professional organizations listed on our site, visit other informational sites, read books, ASK questions, and EDUCATE YOURSELF! You can NEVER know too much!     Your donkey will thank you for it!
