Ivory Donkey Information

Are you interested in having an ivory donkey of your own?

Cabinwood Farm doesn't have a traditional waiting list for our ivory foals and ivory carrier foals. What we do have is  called a "List of Interest" for anyone who has an interest in the Blue-eyed White (Ivory) donkeys. If you would like to be on our "List of Interest" just email us at cabinwoodfarm@gmail.com and give us your name and contact information along with the type of interest you have (breeding, jacks, jennets, foals, adult, companion) We will contact all those interested when we have any ivory events to report such as births of ivory/carrier foals or donkeys of different ages we might have for sale in the future.

Thanks for looking at our site!

Possum, our very first blue-eyed Ivory Jennet, was purchased at the Ohio Classic Miniature Donkey Sale in Lancaster, Ohio where the Wisconsin breeder Donkey Shoen Miniature Donkeys had their dispersal auction. We went to Lancaster for one reason only...to buy Possum.... and we were SO surprised when we got there to find that she came with a week old jennet foal at her side!! We never thought we would get her but WE DID! Possum and her foal little MyTy are near and dear to my heart and we hope to have a Cabinwood Farm Ivory foal here in the future.

*Possum gave birth to a beautiful dark ivory jennet on June 3, 2009! Her name is Cabinwood's Lady Cynthia.

Mirage was purchased from Furball Acres in 2007 and left there for breeding, to be picked up in the spring of 2008...long before she foaled, right? Well, the best laid plans as "they" say! Mirage foaled early and we waited till late summer to allow another little girl we had purchased from Furball to be weaned before pickup so we ended up with 3 beautiful ivory girls coming to Cabinwood all at the same time!

Mirage is a nice solid jennet with good conformation and is an excellent Mom! We are thrilled to have her here at Cabinwood along with her beautiful new foal Cabinwood's Fiona Jean.

* Mirage gave birth to a beautiful ivory jennet foal on July 22, 2008. Her name is Cabinwood's Fiona Jean and she will be staying here and added to our future ivory breeding program.

* Mirage gave birth to a handsome ivory jack on September 20. 2009. His name is Cabinwood's Takota Shadow.

Mirage is being exposed to Furball Acres Hand Painted for a 2011 foal.

We are so honored and excited to have Chamomile here at Cabinwood Farm! Chami comes to us from the most recent down-sizing done by Connie Bonczek at Furball Acres in South Carolina. We thank Connie so much for the opportunity to bring Chamomile here and into our ivory breeding program!

Chamomile is one gorgeous jennet with just the BEST combination of conformation and great donkey looks that you will find anywhere! Her 2008 jack foal out of  LFF's Buttered Popcorn is currently one of our future herdsire selections!!

*Chamomile gave birth here to a handsome ivory jack foal by Merry-go-round's Sir Booberry Creme on Oct. 1, 2009. His name is Cabinwood's J. Stryker. He may be another keeper! What a gorgeous boy!!

Tyllie is one of the sweetest donkeys you've ever seen! We are so thrilled to have her and hope she will be here at Cabinwood Farm for a long time to come. She came to us in a round about way from an Exotic Animal Farm in Kansas.  We have added her to our Ivory breeding program and hope that her great solid build, wooly appearance, gorgeous behind and personality plus will be an excellent asset for us in our future ivory breeding.

* Matylda gave birth to a very handsome well built dark brown/red jack foal on September 6, 2009. His name is Cabinwood's J. Higgins

Matylda is being exposed to Furball Acres Hand Painted for a 2011 foal.

Several years ago when I first became interested in the ivory donkeys I put myself on as many waiting lists as I could find for an ivory foal. Two years later I received my very first call from Furball Acres that I had finally moved to the top of the list and there was a baby girl born if I wanted her!!!!! Mon Ami was well worth the wait!!!! She is tiny, full of energy and just down right beautiful!!!

Many, many thanks go out to Connie Bonczek at Furball Acres in South Carolina for all her guidance and support as I've slowly been building up my ivory breeding herd. Mon Ami is a wonderfully conformed young jennet and we can't wait for her to grow up and begin her producing years here at Cabinwood Farm!

FiFi was o
ur very first Cabinwood Farm ivory foal and she wasn't even born at Cabinwood!! Little Fiona Jean was born during a heat wave in South Carolina when her dam Mirage decided not to wait for her ride here to Ohio! Mirage was purchased from Connie Bonczek's Furball Acres in the early Fall of 2007 and then was kept there for breeding and scheduled to be picked up in the Spring of 2008. But as luck would have it, when our number came up and our waiting list foal was born at Furball in April, we decided to put off pickup till later in the summer so we could get our little weanling Mon Ami at the same time. Mirage then surprised us all and had Fiona only a week and a half before our trip to get them! There is never a dull moment in donkeys!!

Fiona is a sweet, sweet and beautiful little jennet who is correct in every way!

We waited a long time for this little girl in more ways than one! According to my breeding calendar this foal wasn't due until the end of June but Possum broke all the rules and bagged up big weeks ago, had white milk for over a week, and then had two bouts of false labor! But in the end, Little Cyn was worth the wait!! She is just wonderful all around, has even gums, and she is the most beautiful shade of dark ivory you've ever seen....almost a buckskin color at birth. She is not only JT Chance's first foal ever but she is our very first home-bred jennet to be born here at Cabinwood!! Girls have been hard to come by and all those born here so far have been from someone else's breeding.

Lady Cynthia is named after one of my best friends!

Thank you Possum and Chance for giving us this beautiful donkey girl!! Lady Cynthia will remain at Cabinwood to grow and mature and hopefully be added to our own ivory breeding program in the future!

We purchased Margarita (Rita) from Chuck and Lorraine Chudomelka of C & L Miniature Donkeys at the very first Heart of America donkey auction in Carthage, Missouri, October 2007. We were unable to attend but did bid on the Internet and then our good friends the Crims' of Assphalt Acres were nice enough to bring Rita back to Indiana with them. A week later my son Jason and I drove out to Manilla and brought her back to Cabinwood. Rita is a very, very sweet little girl and gets along well with our other two yearlings Celina and Nicoal. We are happy to have Rita here with us and hope she will mature into the beauty we know she can be!!

We are thrilled to add Jelly Bean to our Ivory breeding program. We thank Connie Bonczek of Furball Acres for her trust in us and for allowing Jelly Bean to come to Cabinwood during her recent herd reduction.

Jelly Bean is a very uniquely colored ivory carrier with excellent conformation. She was a beautiful foal and is fast becoming an even better looking young jennet with great presence!

Jelly Bean is being exposed to Furball Acres Hand Painted for a 2011 foal.

RJR's Blazin Wyldfire

DOB: August 27, 2007  Gray/White MSF

MDR #51691  32 1/2"

Sire: RJR's Cold Blizzard    33"
 Ivory (blue-eyed white)
Dam: RJR's Annabelle        31 1/2"
Gray-dun

Wyldfire and her half-sister Pebbles were purchased from Michele Johnson at RJR Miniatures in Kansas during the Spring of 2008 as additions to our ivory breeding program. Both girls are Ivory carriers with a common spotted ivory sire RJR's Cold Blizzard. It is our hope that when they reach maturity they can help give us some great diversity in our program and deliver some great new blood into our ivory line.

Wyldfire is small with excellent conformation all the way around and has such a wonderful personality!

Many thanks to Michele Johnson for this great yearling!

Wyldfire is bred to Cabinwood's JTChance for a 2010 foal.

Cabinwood's Rockin Pebbles

DOB: July 17, 2007  Gray/White MSF

MDR #53690 32 3/4"

Sire: RJR's Cold Blizzard    33" Spotted
 Ivory (blue-eyed white)
Dam: RJR's Sara Beth NR
Gray-dun

Pebbles and her half-sister Wildfire are great additions to our future ivory breeding program! Both of these girls are stuck together like glue and often times seem to move as one donkey wherever they go! So similar to her sister, it's a good thing that Pebbles is a little larger than Wyldfire and has a bit rounder behind...if not, we might never be able to tell them apart!

Pebbles came without registration but she has been inspected and now has her own identity! We are so excited to have Pebbles and Wyldfire here at Cabinwood!!!!!

*Pebbles gave birth to our very first spotted foal in June 2010. His name is Cabinwood's Lights Out Louie!

Last but not least Katie is the final purchase from Furball Acres complete dispersal sale. Together with her foal Eudora, these two girls represent the long hard work and accomplishment of the breeding program that Connie Bonczek had put together. Genetics is everything in a focused breeding program, so we were thrilled to be able to bring Katie's recessive ivory genes and her gorgeous recessive ivory prodigy into our own program!!! These two girls are a joy to look at with almost perfect conformation and superior attitude!!! Future foals from Katie and our ivory breeding  program jacks will be dreams come true!

Katie is being exposed to Furball Acres Jokers Wild for a 2011 foal.

Dora is one of those rare foals that needs no words of description! When you see her, her striking color and presence speaks loudly all on its own! The jury is still out on her final color but be it black or just very dark brown this girl is impressive with her no light points and no stripe or cross! Straight as an arrow conformation and a loving gentle spirit will steal your heart and then you look at her pedigree and you know when she matures she will be a beauty that few will compare to!

We are EXCITED about Dora!
